Shilong-Guwahati-Kaziranga
1st Day : Guwahati Airport / Station to Kaziranga - Pickup
Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport / Station and transfer to Kaziranga (250Kms / 5hrs). Kaziranga was declared a National Park in 1974 and UNESCO declared Kaziranga a World Heritage Site in 1985. The park hosts two thirds of the world population of Rhinos. Overnight at Kaziranga.
2nd Day : Kaziranga - Kaziranga Jungle Safari
Morning enjoy Jeep Safari inside the National Park. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. It is virtually a paradise for bird watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. After breakfast at hotel you can visit tea plantations, rubber plantations. Afternoon enjoy Jeep safari in the Central Range. Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. Overnight at Kaziranga.
3rd Day : Kaziranga to Shillong - Transfer
Morning after Breakfast, transfer to Shillong. Enroute visit Umiam Lake - created by damming the Umiam River in the early 1960s. The principal catchment area of the lake and dam is spread over 220 square km. Shillong - the capital of British-created Assam until 1972 – and is now the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as "The Abode of Clouds", one of the smallest states in India. Overnight in Shillong.
4th Day : Shillong - Cherrapunjee Excursion
Morning After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, for an awesome day trip. Enroute visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak – to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Sohra, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem view point for mesmerizing views of the Hills. In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later take a soft cave walk inside the Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. Visit Thankarang Park. Later drive back to Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.
5th Day : Shillong - Mawlynnong and Dawki Excursion
Morning After breakfast visit Mawlynnong village and Dawki (Bangladesh Border) - Situated on the India- Bangladesh Border this is a small town in the lap of the Jaintia Hills. Enjoy Boating on the River Umgot. Enjoy the Scenic Beauty of in and around Dawki. Visit to Indo Bangladesh Border. Mawlynnong village has earned the distinction of being the cleanest village in Asia. On return to Shillong visit living root bridge at Mawlynnong (feasible for visit for all ages) and strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Later drive back to Shillong
6th Day : Shillong to Guwahati - Shillong Half Day Sightseeing
Morning after Breakfast, Enjoy Half day sightseeing of Shillong.Shillong - The ‘Gleneagle of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. The gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating. The Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids. Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with streaches of roses & exquisite flowers. The Mini zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles & mammals. One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees. Spend the evening in the splendid arena! The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya. Later, drive to Guwahati, Check In at Hotel. Overnight at Guwahati
7th Day : Guwahati to Guwahati Airport / Station - Departure Transfer VIA Kamakhya Darshan
Morning After Breakfast, If Time Permits, Visit Kamakhya Temple - Situated on top of the Nilachal Hill, Maa Kamakhya Temple is the most sacred among the tantrik shrines of Shakti worship in the world. Later, Departure Transfer to Guwahati Airport / Station Tour Ends.
